We are partnered with a healthcare practice that is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to support patients, practitioners, and internal office operations. The ideal candidate will provide excellent patient service, manage administrative tasks, and ensure the smooth flow of the clinic's daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to patients and healthcare providers.
Schedule patient appointments and assist with rooming patients upon arrival.
Create and maintain new patient profiles, including entering demographic, doctor, and insurance information.
Collect patient co-pays, secure HIPAA forms, and verify insurance details during the intake process.
Support practitioners by preparing patient information, handling post-visit instructions, and confirming patient follow-up plans.
Assist with scheduling appointments at other clinic locations as needed.
Manage lobby and breakroom supplies, distribute incoming mail, and relay voicemail messages.
Take detailed notes during monthly company meetings and distribute summaries to leadership.
Ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance Program and all organizational policies and procedures.
Collaborate effectively with co-workers to promote a team-oriented environment.
Requirements:
6+ months of office or customer service experience; medical or healthcare office experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of third-party payer coverage requirements (Medicare, commercial insurance, and workers' compensation).
Ability to operate office equipment (computer, multi-line phone) and physically move about the office.
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
